Arion Putnam (1870-1949)
|
Born in NYC on July 11, 1870. Putnam settled in Los Angeles in 1888. While working as a photographer, he made painting trips to the High Sierra and along the coast. An Impressionist, his plein air landscapes are rare and from the brush of an accomplished painter. Putnam died in Los Angeles on March 11, 1949. Exh: Painters Club (LA), 1909; SFAA, 1912; Calif.
